Bill Deese Biographical Sketch

Bill holds the rank of professor of chemistry in the College of Engineering and Science at Louisiana Tech University. He graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with a B. S. in chemistry in 1976 and received a Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville in January of 1982. He joined the faculty at Louisiana Tech in the fall of 1981. Since 1989, he has been director or co-director for several professional development programs for science teachers.

Dr. Deese specializes in science demonstrations and has conducted dozens of demonstration programs and workshops at science education conferences nation-wide. His "Dead Chemists Society" keynote address is also popular. This unique program blends the history of science, chemical demonstrations, and the art of juggling.

His outstanding style of teaching has garnered him many awards, including:
