Sherri Ferrel Biographical Sketch

Sherri Ferrel served in the Lincoln Parish public school system for 16 years. Her tenure was spent at Simsboro High School where she was science department chair. Ms. Ferrel is certified in all sciences. She taught classes at the secondary level in both the biological and physical sciences

Ms. Ferrel has been listed in Who's Who Among America's High School Teachers. She was named the 2002 Lincoln Parish Science Teacher of the Year by the Louisiana Tech University Chapter of Sigma Xi Research Society.

Ms. Ferrel has been actively involved in professional development for over 17 years and is a "graduate" of Project LIFE and Project LIFE Leadership. She received her BS in Geology in 1985 and her MS in Science Education in 1991. Since 1995, she has served as a workshop presenter throughout Louisiana at both the parish and state levels. At the end of the 2001-2002 academic year, she began working as CATALyST Facilitator.
