Conundrums

The mission of Louisiana Tech University's CATALyST is to work with school systems to provide programs that will improve science and math education for all students. CATALyST Conundrums is a column published in our local paper, the Ruston Daily Leader, during the school year. It targets 4th - 8th grade students who enjoy solving puzzles and riddles. In each column a puzzle, problem, or activity is presented. Students may respond individually from their homes or teachers may use the column in their classes and send in individual or whole group answers. All students who solve the conundrum receive an award certificate and free pizza coupon. Also, some of the best answers are published in the following month's column. Please feel free to use these previously published conundrums in your classroom as you wish.
