Where Does Each Student Sit?

Peter, paul, Patrick, Priscilla, and Penny all sit at the front in Mrs. Smith's math class. Can you tell where each student sits? Read the sentences below. The chart will help you keep track of the clues. Put an "X" in the boxes of the chart that do not apply to each student. When you have only one empty box in the row to the right of each student, put a "check" in it. Congratulations! You have solved the mystery!

  1. When Patrick came to class, he noticed that one of his neighbors had a yellow desk and one had a blue desk.
  2. Paul solved the bonus problem and so did the students in the red and green desks.
  3. Penny put pieces of gum on the yellow desk and the orange desk for her friends, but Peter and Priscilla warned the students who sat there not to chew it or they'd get in BIG trouble.
  4. Penny told a joke and the students in the blue desk and green desk laughed.
  5. Priscilla and the student in the green desk returned papers for Mrs. Smith.
  6. Peter helped the student in the red desk with their group assignment.
