A mother cat has used seven of her nine lives. She has several kittens. Some of the kittens have spent six of their lives, while others have used only four. The mother and her kittens have a total of twenty-five lives left to live. Can you tell with certainty how many kittens the mother cat has? If so, explain how. If not, explain the possibilities.
