Project DEEDS

Through participation in Project DEEDS (Developing Environmental Education Decision-making Skills) Louisiana educators learned specific strategies that will help them to teach their students how to make informed decisions based on scientific evidences. Cooperative group experiences and hands-on experiments facilitated the discovery of the 4 steps of decision making. Participants were provided with the information and materials necessary to easily incorporate Project DEEDS into their classrooms.

On February 19, 2005, CATALyST was pleased to welcome Claudia Fowler and Brenda Nixon as they presented Project DEEDS, an initiative of the Louisiana Science Teachers' Association. Project DEEDS is funded in part by a grant from the US-EPA and by support from the Louisiana Environmental Education Association.
