As the World Turns: An Earth Day Workshop

Join the CATALyST Staff as you engage in a series of creative, fun, and informative learning experiences that highlight issues related to topics appropriate for your classroom's Earth Day emphasis. Developed by a team from CATALyST's GK-12 partners, the workshop provides teachers with interactive reform-based strategies that not only engage the students in hands-on/minds-on learning, but interdisciplinary and brain based instruction as well.

Experience three-dimensional graphs come to life through real world application; take a look into the future as individual stewardship of resources is explored; immerse in inquiry-based investigations geared toward environmental issues; engage in role-play through a simulation of business and industry practice; discover the world of endangered species as you design and share a junk-art creation; and learn how you and your students can help the world turn a little better, as you examine pertinent issues and information, all while having fun doing it!
