Field Trip in a Box

Beginning simply as an abbreviated look at water quality, the simulation "Water Quality Quandary" has expanded to become the highly interactive Field Trip in a Box. Developed from materials typically found in post secondary lab resources, Field Trip in a Box provides participants the opportunity to function as a science field biologist while examining issues related to water quality.

The workshop models standards based instruction as participants engage in cooperative learning, the learning cycle, alternative assessment, and inquiry. With a strong focus on process skills, the workshop opens the door for excellent scientific modeling and field sampling simulation; in addition, while providing strategies for multiple learning styles and needs, it also models effective strategies that can help students prepare for success with standardized testing.
